MIX stands for Mastermind Information Exchange. It is a mentorship group that acts as a sounding board. Mastermind groups have been in our Chimney and Fireplace industry for over 25 years. The MIX concept was introduced in 1998, by Clay Lamb of the American Chimney and Masonry Company in Cincinnati, OH.
Currently, Clay has retired his 40-year day-to-day operation of American Chimney, and his 4 decades of entrepreneurship, business, and management experience in the industry pull these unique groups together for regular problem-solving, idea-sharing, and mentorship. Clay is also the executive producer of the YouTube channel "Ask the Chimney Sweep" which currently has over 170 educational videos with more than 7 million views.
Many members have shared that being a part of a MIX group has played a vital role in the growth of their company. The insights provided by Clay and group members in solving employee and customer problems have proven to be a tremendous value and benefit of their MIX membership.
Here is how Mastermind MIX Groups work: Each online group is made up of up to 12 NON-COMPETING companies that are personally facilitated by Clay.
To respect and protect each member’s privacy, each participating member's business must be located at least 90 miles away from any other member of their MIX Group.
• Groups meet on an online video conferencing platform.
• Each MIX group meets once a month for a 90-minute online group meeting.
• MIX members will each get a turn in the "Hot Seat". This is an opportunity for a group member to share their current most significant challenge and for the rest of the group to offer problem-solving strategies to support them.
• Attendance in these 90-minute video meetings is expected and acts as the nexus of ongoing weekly peer-to-peer engagements.
• Networking amongst group members is a key ingredient in making the most of your membership.
• MIX members encourage each other to set goals and hold one another accountable for achieving their goals.
• MIX members also receive exclusive access to regular one-on-one communication with their group facilitator gain a deeper understanding of their current position, concerns, and ambitions.
